Use the Merge Stitch File tool from the Toolbar or File Menu. This will present a window in which you can navigate your system. If ZIP files are encountered they will be unzipped and their contents displayed.

OS version is not checked when the download link for the demo version of Embrilliance Essentials is clicked. If you click tho slink and nothing happens you need to check your browser operation.

Select the design. Handles should be drawn around the selection. Move the cursor to one of the handles, it will change shape to indicate the direction the handle can moved. The .be file is an Embrilliance format known as a working file. THe working file is you fried as it can be edited. Every time you save a stitch file (vp3 in your case) an exact copy is saved in working file format. Why? So you can edit the design.
