Okay, I hope that I can explain this all correctly.
I have a Viking Diamond and of course all my designs are either HUS or VP3
I have just purchased a Bernina 580E and their files are ART
Does the Embrillance Embroidery software allow me to take the Viking files and convert to the ART files?
If I was keeping the Viking it would not matter but I am not and am hoping that all my designs will not be wasted and I will have to buy again in another format.
I would really appreciate any help before I make a purchase of the software.

Essentials can read:

.ART, .ART42, .ART50, .ART60, .CND,

.CSD, .DST, .DSZ, .EMB, .EMD,

.EXP, .EXP+, .HUS, .JAN, .JEF,

.JEF+, .PCS, .PCM, .PES, .PHB,

.PHC, .PHD, .SEW, .SHV, .TAP,

.VIP, .VP3, .XXX

Essentials can write:

.CSD, .DST, .DSZ, .EXP, .EXP+,

.HUS, .JEF, .PCS, .PCM, .PES,

.SEW, .SHV, .TAP, .VIP, .VP3,

.XXX

You would write EXP+ for use in your Bernina.

Hi, Debby54,
Your machine, and all Bernina machines use .EXP natively. Please don't be misled into thinking that your machine only takes .ART.
Also many newer Berninas use .EXP+ which adds nice color support.
Either way, you are good to go with Essentials!
