Essentials doesn't automatically update.
You will have to install the latest version update.
You can check which version of Essentials you have by opening the program and then go to Help at the Top of the Working Window.
Click on Help then click on About in the drop down menu.
You will see which version you have.
Then shut down Essentials.
To Update to the Current version you go to the Downloads at the top of the Forum Page or to this link on the Embrilliance Website and check to see if there is a newer version than what you have.
Download the latest version to a folder on your computer or to your desk top on your computer and then double click on the file and run the update.
Your program will then be updated.
You can then open Essential and click on Help and About and check to make sure your version of Essentials is updated.

If you think that the new update for Essentials caused a problem with your WinZip program you might want to contact the Embrilliance Support Team and ask them if the update would affect Winzip.
They are the only ones that would know if their software causes any problems with other software that their customers might be using on their computers.
Let them know what Computer Operating System you have on your computer (Windows 32 bit or 64 bit or Mac).
I wonder if you just shut down your computer and restart it if that would solve your Win Zip problem.
I haven't seen anyone comment on the Embrilliance updates causing problems with their other computer programs.
