stacking a name

Post by shortfidler » Sat Aug 31, 2013 9:22 pm

Hi: I have just purchased this software and wonder if it is possible to make a stacked name, either in Embrillance or Alpha Tricks?

Hi shortfidler!

If you mean stacking a name over top of a Upper Case Letter then the answer is yes!

If you have both Essentials and the Alpha Tricks add on pack you can make the Stacked name in the Essentials working window.

You can use the Built in Alphabets that come with Essentials or the Alphabets you mapped using Alpha Tricks as both types of Aplabets are shown in the drop down menu when you want to choose which one to use to make the lettering for your Stacked Name.

Also in Essentials you have the option of removing the hidden stitches of the Upper Case letter that lay underneath some of the letters in the stacked name that will sit on top of the upper case letter. This makes for easier stitching in the places where the lettering is over top of the letter underneath.

To make the Stacked name:
First click the Create Letters Button and create the Upper Case Letrter.

Then click the Create Letters Button again and create the Name you want stacked on top of the upper case letter that you created in the first step.

You can play with the positioning of the name over the Upper case letter to get the name where you want it to go.

Once you have everything where you want it make sure to select the whole design by drawing a box around it and then clcik the Remove Stitches Button.

Then draw a box around the whole design again and clck on the Centering Button to center the design in the hoop size you have choosen to make the design in.

Then you can save the design in your machine format for stitching on your machine.

Just a clarification, by default, the software will remove the stitches underneath when you save the design. Clicking the Remove Hidden Stitches button gives you a preview of what the design will look like at the machine with the stitches removed. The BE file still has the stitches for future customizing without gaps and holes where stitches were removed.

This is a great step by step on how to easily create a fun design layout!
