Creating Appliques #3 in Stitch Artist

Post by EastWitch2 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 5:06 pm

So I started out with 3 Appliques shapes and digitized them as Appliques.
Each Shape had 3 color stops.
Total of 9 Color Stops for all 3 shapes.
Saved the design to remove the overlapped stitches.
Then did a Color Sort
Ended up with 5 color changes for the whole design of 3 appliques.
All the Position stitches will stitch out first for all 3.
Then the Material Tack down stitch will stitch for all 3
And then the Final Satin Finishing Stitch will stitch for all 3.

If I had made the Final Satin Stitch for all 3 Appliques the same color then when I did the Color Sort I would have ended up with only 3 color changes for the whole design.

I made the Final Satin Stitch for each Applique a different color on purpose so you could see what Color Sort would do if those stitches where different colors!

See my last and final picture for this adventure!

Does any of this make sense to you???

Thank you Lisa! this makes a lot of sense to me, I try to use color sort often, I don't like so many color changes when I embroider if possible.
A stitch in time saves 9
