Which machine? A Designer 1 or a Brother/Baby Lock?
A Designer 1 requires you to build the disk with our implementation of the Disk Manager (see the instructions on the Disk Manager in CIM).
A Brother/Baby Lock will take .PES files save to the floppy: Use Convert It, Mac (which we call CIM pronounced "sim") to copy the .PES files to the disk. Right click on the selected files and use the Copy To command. Then push the button on your floppy drive to eject the disk if you can. Ejecting from the Finder may add back files to that disk which your machine won't like. (Won't let you see designs.) Remember that your machine won't allow you to see designs that are too big for its hoop.
