Reconstructing Outlines (Level 3)

There are files available from large clip art providers that come in as vector outlines, but they were not drawn that way – they were bitmaps that had some software auto-trace them. That process often creates outlines with hundreds of Bezier nodes. When you want to actually use these outlines, the editing can be exhaustive. Sometimes, you just want the basic shapes, with far fewer nodes, and that is where the menu Create->Outline->Reconstruct can be useful. It turns the outline back into a simple line drawing and then fits a set of Bezier nodes to it.
