Assigning needle position

Post by javelinsst » Wed Jan 30, 2019 7:57 am

I realize with many different brands and models of multi-needle machines, this might be impossible. However, when thinking about possible future features, I would greatly appreciate being able to assign needle positions to the elements of the design while still in Stitch Artist, rather than having to do this once I've transferred the design to my Enterprise. Thank you.

Unfortunately, there is no provision in the .PES file, or any embroidery file at all, for assigning needles. It is always a machine function. Now if the manufacturers change things, then we'll revisit. I think the main reason for this, is the machine and computer often may not be in the same room, so the computer user has no idea what threads are sitting on the machine.
