What do you get when you cross retro fonts with classic shaped layouts and the most powerful text-warping envelope system in machine embroidery? We’ve decided to call it ACE-1: The Rewind. This collection includes 6 hand-crafted fonts made specifically for warping and a whopping 316 ready-to-use envelope layouts waiting for your names, quips, titles, and text! With so many editable and amazing layouts, the project possibilities are endless!

The fonts and templates included in ACE-1: The Rewind work with any Embrillance Platform program, even the free ‘Express’ Mode!

ACE Fonts

This all-new collection of specialized fonts and envelope text layouts is the first release of a new type of embroidery font unique to the Embrilliance Platform, ACE Fonts. You may already know that envelopes are shapes that combine with lettering objects, warping the lettering to fit their shape. ACE Fonts are specifically made to make this warping look its best. ACE stands for All-Caps Envelope; this means that ACE Fonts are all capital letters, created specifically without the ascenders and descenders that make fonts pull away from the top and bottom lines of envelope shapes. ACE Fonts even have additional control points built-in to let them hug the top and bottom line of any Embrilliance text envelope, enhancing tracking even with considerably complicated shapes.

Easy to Use Templates

ACE-1: The Rewind comes with over 300 templates specifically made for use with ACE Fonts, categorized by their shape and the number of text lines they can accommodate. To utilize your templates, simply click the Merge Design icon in your toolbar. Then, select ‘Embrilliance: ACE: The Rewind” under Catalog in the upper left hand corner of your Library dialog box. Once you see the ACE-1: The Rewind library, click the category you’d like to use in the selector at the left, then the select the template/s you want to use on the right. Click the ‘OK’ button at the upper right, and the template will appear on your design page.

Once your template appears, you’ll see that it is populated with example text. Simply select the text you want to change in the Objects tree to the right of the design page, then replace the text with your own in the Text entry area of the ‘Properties’ tab at the bottom right and hit the enter key. Immediately, you’ll see the text snap back into the template shape. From the Properties tab, you can select any ACE font, change colors, and change stitch parameters as you would with any native Embrilliance fonts.

NOTE: These templates will accept any embroidery font installed in the Embrilliance Platform, but you must own Embrilliance Essentials to use envelopes with stitch-based BX fonts. Native fonts that aren’t ACE fonts will also work, but those with variations in height or ascenders and descenders won’t ‘hug the lines’ like the included ACE Fonts.

Stackable Templates

The ‘Stackable’ category of templates allows you to create stacks of envelopes to include as many lines as you can safely fit in your hoop! Stackables differ from the other templates in that you will need to select multiple template designs and arrange them to fit together manually. Each ‘Stackable’ is labeled with a style name to help you select only the designs that belong in the same stack. Simply select the top, lines, and bottom layers that fit together to make up your stack. There are different tops and bottoms for each stack to let you start or end with either middle line shape as you stack your design.

Included in the Stackable set are also 2 endlessly stackable waves and multiple arches and bridges made to fit over and around other circular and oval templates or, if you have Embrilliance Essentials, existing circular designs. For those, you simply need to place, scale, and align with your circular or oval elements!

Endlessly Customizable

These templates can be combined endlessly! Place them together to build your own custom layouts. As long as you make sure you never split your envelopes and lettering objects, you can create any configuration. Each envelope has a number in its name, shown on the object tree to the right of the design page. You’ll notice that the first lettering object under an envelope with the same number is the one that fills up that shape. Keep them together and in order, and your multi-template layout will work as expected, even if other templates with the same numbers are on the design page.

ACE-1: The Rewind is all about having fun! Change more than just the text. Create ombre color gradients and wild color schemes, use different fonts on each line, make custom contour and classic patches with the tools in Merrowly Patches (not included). Add a circular text layout to a key-tag design from your collection, or combine the templates with your favorite logo or design with Embrilliance Essentials.

Everything Fits

Whether you are personalizing with the name of someone you care for, representing your team, school, church, band, or club, expressing your humor with a funny saying, or lifting people up with something inspirational, you’ve got something that’s a perfect fit for ACE-1: The Rewind. Better yet, even if it’s not, our templates will make almost anything fit your retro style.

Specs / Installation

Runs natively on your preferred platform!

  • Mac OSX 10.9 – MacOS 13
  • Windows (32, 64): XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, 11
  • Embrilliance is the only brand in the world that offers embroidery software running native on MacOS and Windows 32 and Windows 64 (so it’s faster)!

Install on any number of machines!

Like all our products running in the Embrilliance Platform, you get both MacOS and Windows versions with your purchase. Your license lets you run Embrilliance Essentials on as many computers as you own — even mixing and matching Mac and Windows installs.

No dongle required. No limits to the number of installs. As you add Embrilliance software products, all you have to do is register the serial number to the program and all the features are added to the platform. One platform, one install, adds everything the Embrilliance Platform has to offer.

BX Installable Assets

The ACE-1: The Rewind fonts and templates are included in a standard BX installer on our downloads page and will install any fonts under the name “ACE” added to the font name in your fonts list.

If you have already installed an Embrilliance Platform program, have updated to the latest version, and have already unzipped any compressed files, you can simply double-click the .BX installer file or drag and drop the .BX file’s icon into the main design window in your Embrilliance Platform. You will then see a window pop up to confirm your installation and be asked for your serial number to verify your purchase.

How to access your Templates

The ACE-1: The Rewind templates are accessed by clicking the ‘Merge Design’ tool. They are located under the ‘Embrilliance: ACE: The Rewind’ library.

Click the merge design icon in the right hand segment of the menu bar to be taken to the library view.  In the upper left hand side of the Library window, select the ‘Embrilliance: ACE: The Rewind catalog to see the included designs as shown below.

Native Assets

All included fonts and designs are scalable and object based, meaning that they will recalculate densities on scaling, so you can change some fill patterns and underlay settings on select font objects, and that users of StitchArtist will be able to access and edit the template envelopes.

F.A.Q.

Q: Which Embrilliance Platform Program do I need to use the assets in ACE-1: The Rewind?

A: Any Embrilliance Platform Program, including the free Express Mode, will allow you to use the native ACE Fonts and the library found in ACE-1: The Rewind. If you want to use stitch-based fonts in any envelope template, however, you will require Embrilliance Essentials, as its resizing engine is what allows stitch-based fonts to be reshaped.

Q: Can I use the ACE Fonts for other purposes or with other envelopes than those in ACE-1: The Rewind?

A: Yes! They are native Embrilliance fonts that can be used with any lettering tool in the Embrilliance Platform. As for other envelopes, they should behave even better than most other fonts in envelope shapes, no matter where those shapes came from.

Q: Can I use any fonts in the templates from ACE-1: The Rewind?

A: You can use any embroidery font you can use in other Embrilliance Platform products in the included envelope shapes. Be aware that the ACE Fonts have been specifically drawn to tightly follow the envelope shapes. Any font that wasn’t designed for this purpose, especially those with ascenders (parts of the letter that go above the height of most letters) and descenders (parts of the letter that go beyond the baseline that marks the bottom of most letters) may cause the text to shift away from the envelope edges or have other poor results. If you want to use stitch-based fonts in any envelope template, however, you will require Embrilliance Essentials, as its resizing engine is what allows stitch-based fonts to be reshaped. Note: Envelope shapes allow us to heavily alter, warp, and change text beyond its usual limits. You can create lettering that won’t stitch well if you don’t adhere to the best practices for text size in machine embroidery.

Q: Can I rotate the templates in ACE-1: The Rewind?

A: Yes, but you will need to do so with care. First, only resize or rotate the Envelope objects. Leave the text in the original, horizontal position. It will snap into place within your envelope. If you experience difficulty with rotation, please contact Embrilliance Support for updates and solutions.

Q: Can I Horizontally or Vertically ‘Flip’ the templates in ACE-1: The Rewind?

A: No. Horizontal and vertical flipping will cause the envelopes to function incorrectly. The envelope system looks for distinct ‘corners’ in an envelope shape that need to be in a specific orientation in relation to the shape for the text to warp properly. Flipping will cause these ‘corners’ to be out of sequence, causing poor results.
