We’ve got nothing but TREATS for you this Halloween! We created a library of Interactive patch designs you can install directly into the Embrilliance platform. Once you install the library, you will have access to these free INTERACTIVE Patch designs in a couple of clicks!

These library designs have superpowers! 🙂 They were created in the native Embrilliance format using StitchArtist Level 3 and published with PatchArtist Interactive capabilities that let you make your patches any way you like! If you’ve wanted to try out PatchArtist, these fun and festive Halloween patch designs give you a taste of what a PatchArtist patch design can do!

We created and stitched the above examples using PatchArtist’s “Create using Fill” option, meaning they are made entirely of thread, stitched on fibrous water soluble stabilizer. We used glow in the dark thread from Isacord/Mettler and Wonderfil to create the glowing elements. Glow in the dark thread is a fun accent to use this time of year! Even so, these designs needed no other special setup at the machine. Our friend Lisa Shaw used a SCHMETZ 75/11 Chrome Embroidery needle for all stitch-outs.

We have created a PDF file that you can download with installation instructions – In short, they are installed like any other BX file! See how to install a BX here: How to Install a BX Video link

You may be familiar with BX files from the wealth of fonts available from top digitizers; the difference with BX libraries is that instead of showing up in the font pane you see when using the Lettering tool, Library designs are accessed via the Merge Library Design button on your button bar. This opens the library- to find the designs, select the Embrilliance: Halloween the Catalog from the pull down menu in the upper left.

Select the patch you would like to use and click OK. The patch will show up in the center of your hoop.

Select the design in the Object pane. NOTICE the Interactive Tab in the properties pane. This is where you can have some fun and change the style of patch you would like to create! Check out the section on Patch Creation in the PatchArtist Instructional PDF for information on the settings. This PDF file also contains stitching guidance as well as some background information on patch making.

To change an enveloped name in a design, select the design’s Lettering object. In the Lettering properties pane at the bottom right, change the text to the name you want and hit Enter. If you have Essentials authorized, you can use any installed embroidery font including stitch-based fonts. If you are using Express mode or any other platform program without Essentials, envelopes are limited to native fonts, such as the included Block or the fonts from Font Collection 1, Font Collection 2, or the included fonts in PatchArtist. For more information on how envelopes work, check out this blog post!

One of the Cat patches uses the PA Cycle font from PatchArtist. Only users that already own PatchArtist will have access to use this font in their design.

If you have StitchArtist Level 3, you can right click on the design in the Display pane and choose Convert to Objects. This gives you access to the native objects from the working file, meaning you can see how the design was digitized! You have complete access to all objects, their properties, the stitching order, etc.

If you aren’t already an Embrilliance owner, we provide a free method to use our software called Express Mode that will not only allow you to use any of the wonderful free designs found in our project blog, but also enables you to install and create basic text treatments with fonts distributed in our popular .BX format produced by many embroidery design creators.

  1. I have been out of commission for a while and just got back here. Thank you, Embrilliance, for still being the best and only real deal for Apple products.
