Our own Erich Campbell couldn’t let Father’s Day pass without bringing one of his favorite ‘dad jokes’ to life with this simple little patch. This, friends, is a ‘Round Tuit’. Having been given a wooden version of this miracle productivity tool by his family, he couldn’t wait to share it with your dads, grandads, and other jokesters of the family alike.
Here’s how the ‘Round Tuit‘ became a favorite of so many dads: When your Dad asks you to do a chore and is greeted with the standard reply, “I’ll get to that as soon as I get around to it”, he’s immediately ready with this wondrous little charm in his wallet. He can then hand you this little round item bearing the mystical word “TUIT“, knowing he has indeed made sure you ‘got a round tuit’ (got around to it), so that the task is sure to get done.
Don’t get us wrong, this can backfire on lots of the dads out there who have put off a project at the house with the same phrase, but then again, who doesn’t need a little help getting ‘a round tuit’ once in a while? Read on for instructions and to get your own ‘Round Tuit’ design!
The Round Tuit is an interactive patch design! Whether you are using Embrilliance Express mode or any Embrilliance Platform Program, you’ll be able to change the method you use to make your patch from the thread-only ‘Create using Fill‘ option, to pre-cut fabric, hand-cutting in the hoop, even to adding simple light texture fills to your fabric patches. Though this was created using StitchArtist 3‘s ‘Edge‘ stitch that you know and love from the many borders you can create and use in Merrowly Patches, you can choose your style for this free design in any of our programs.
Simply select the design in the Object pane to see the options. NOTICE the Interactive Tab in the properties pane as shown in the bottom right corner of the image above. This is where you can have some fun and change the style of patch you would like to create! This PDF file also contains stitching guidance as well as some background information on patch making.
