SSSO #8: Larger Star of Life (Cap-Ready) and the Rod of Asclepius
These classic designs are applicable both for emergency medical staff, some nursing staff, and anyone involved in practicing medicine.
This star of life is a larger rendition compared to our earlier offering, coming in at 1 11/16ths inches in height, not only does this piece have additional detail and cover more area, it has been digitized to track from the bottom of the design up and from the center of the design to the outside edges so that it runs stably on a cylindrical cap frame. Not only that, there are special tacking and underlay runs to help attach a cap’s crown to the underlying stabilizer and to smooth out the fabric of the crown before your top-stitching starts. The design can run equally well on flat garments and goods, but it was digitized specifically with hats in mind.
As an added bonus, We’ve decided to offer another symbol requested after we released the winged Caduceus, a standalone Rod of Asclepius. Though you can certainly find the Rod of Asclepius in the middle of both of our star of life designs, this larger, more detailed and satin-bordered rendering is perfect for any nurses or other medical groups that have decided to use the more mythologically correct symbol related to the god of healing rather than the classic winged Caduceus used commonly in nursing here in the US despite having no classical connection to medicine in the ancient world.
This simple, yet elegant symbol measures just over 2″ in height, making it large enough to stand on its own, but small enough to allow for added text in almost any apparel placement!
