A Free Tiny Turkey-Day Embroidery Design

As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, many of us are looking for last minute embroidery ideas for gifts and home decor. I was in a “pickle” and said to my Embrilliance peeps “YIKES! Can you believe that it is Thanksgiving this week!! Does anyone have a turkey design already digitized that I can use for the Embrilliance project blog?” See, if you are feeling rather “last minute”, you are not alone!😅
Luckily, our friend Erich Campbell said “I’ve got this tiny turkey done in a woodcut style that would look great on linen napkins or a bread basket liner.” So I have to thank Erich, for coming to my rescue with such a lovely design!

And “tiny turkey” is right!  BUT HOLY SMOKES the detail in him is simply marvelous – so much so that enlarging him to twice the size to put into my Thanksgiving poem wall-hanging just made him more impressive. Using the multi-line text option in Essentials, it was easy to type the poem and then use the adjustors to move the letters and lines of letters where they needed to be to create an eye pleasing layout.  Don’t forget that we have an entire playlist on how to use the lettering tool!  There are so many tips and shortcuts in our powerful little lettering tool.  Here is the link to the playlist.

The font used above is GiddyUp from Embrilliance Font Collection 1.

I’m stitching him out right now at the original size on the corner of a linen napkin with 100wt silk thread and it almost looks like he was woven into the fabric.

The design is provided in our native .BE format, enabling you to save a stitch file for any embroidery machine.
