With Thanksgiving bearing down on us and our Embrilliance embroiderers looking for quick-stitching designs, our own Erich Campbell decided to add to his collection of single-color woodcut-styled designs. If you loved the lines on his Woodcut Turkey embroidery design, or decked your turkey-day linens with his Woodcut Cornucopia, you’ll love his new spin on some very old art with this year’s Woodcut Maize/Corn embroidery design.
Adapted from a print dating back to the early 1500s, Erich created this design at around 1″ by 2 5/16” (26.1 by 58.4mm) with a grand total of 2428 stitches, this super-fast single-color decoration is perfect for napkins, tea-towel corners, or anywhere you want to ‘lend an ear’.
This is a perfect example of a design that you could create with any of our StitchArtist software levels, including StitchArtist Level 1. Erich only used the ‘draw with points’ tool, simple run stitches, and basic fills to make this blackwork cob look clean and crisp.
The design is provided in our native .BE format, enabling you to save a stitch file for any embroidery machine. If you aren’t already an Embrilliance owner, we provide a free method to use our software called Express Mode that will not only allow you to use any of the wonderful free designs found in our project blog, but also enables you to install and create basic text treatments with fonts distributed in our popular .BX format produced by many embroidery design creators.
