That (literally) sweet smiling face can bring joy to anyone in the holiday season, and the embroidered version of our cookie companion is no less likely to bring you a chuckle! Our Lisa Shaw created this mini accent design, knowing that more than a few fun projects could benefit from this little bakery buddy. So many of us are always on the hunt for these kinds of quick-stitching small designs to add as accents to our own creations and personalization, so she decided that she had to share! During the holidays, these mini designs are great to add to name badges, gift tags, and monograms, but they can also be repeated for borders, corners, and other decorative design layouts. With this little gingerbread man being about the size of a bobbin and as cute as a button, he’s ready for all manner of placements!

Motifs and Minis Everywhere!
We love mini accents so much, that there are even a few included in Essentials! Did you know that you could find some in the Embrilliance Essentials Motif Library? Click the ‘Merge Design’ gear icon, select the ‘Embrilliance‘ catalog at the top of the Library window, then click on the Motif icon in the left side of the library. You’ll see some of the fun little design elements ready to stitch in your own embroidery compositions! We think that little Holly sprig might just pair nicely with our gingerbread friend.

The library isn’t the only place you might find some fun mini designs. Just last month, we also gave you the ‘potluck-ready’ Icon designs that came from our ‘Green Bean Casserole’ freebie.

Making More of your Minis
Lisa had the awesome idea of adding our little friend to one of the numerous patch layouts you get with PatchArtist. Though these layouts are already easy to customize in PatchArtist alone, due to the added baselines and text guides, she decided that a couple of added elements would make her ‘Official Gingerbread Inspector’ patch really pop.

With a quick few clicks in StitchArtist Level 2 she had a central shield made of a light-density curved fill created with a gradient, complete with a sharp satin column border. She even added another couple of mini designs, placing the tiny stars in the badge’s border.

We love how her badge turned out, but we know you folks are always game to create a great new use for our machine embroidery freebies! What will you create with this cute, quick-stitching gingerbread man? Download the file below, and give it a go!
The design is provided in our native .BE format, enabling you to save a stitch file for any embroidery machine. If you aren’t already an Embrilliance owner, we provide a free method to use our software called Express Mode. It will not only allow you to use any of the wonderful free designs found in our project blog, but also lets you install and create basic text treatments with fonts distributed in our popular .BX format produced by many embroidery design creators.
