We’re here to help the helpers!
We love helping you support those who support us through tough times, keep up the good work!
For the fifth day of our ‘Stay Strong and Stitch On!’ campaign, we’re showing our support for the firefighters that so frequently are the first on scene for all manner of emergencies.
SSSO #5: Firefighters’ Maltese Cross
This single-color, quick-stitching version of the classic firefighters’ symbol complete with classic firefighting tools was created by our own Erich Campbell and will enable you to decorate apparel and accessories for your local crew.
This classic symbol features a combination of straight-stitch detail and crisp satin-stitched borders with manually mitered corners to add texture and interest. Even rendered in a single color like this classic gold, this logo has an understated steady strength that suits our favorite firefighters. The classic tools of the trade, including the bugle, pike pole, ladder, axe and helmet are all represented in the center roundel, making for an emblem rich in history.
This cross is suitable for any number of apparel applications, measuring 1 7/8″ in height by 1 7/8″ in width. Combining it with lettering in Embrilliance allows you to create designs for any official or department with ease, and we’ve included a classic circle text template as seen below to let you create a custom piece for your local crew.
You can download the zipped file that contains the Maltese Cross alone and the version with the circle text template at the following link!
The design is provided in our native .BE format, enabling you to save a stitch file for any embroidery machine. If you aren’t already an Embrilliance owner, we provide a free method to use our software called Express Mode that will not only allow you to use any of the wonderful free designs found in our project blog, but also enables you to install and create basic text treatments with fonts distributed in our popular .BX format produced by many embroidery design creators.
